Lolita 52 - The item in my wardrobe that was the hardest to get

a relatively up to date wardrobe photo
Well, I have to say I've been pretty lucky with most things in my wardrobe. The majority of things have been purchased through brand sites, secondhand sites, auction sites, or even using an in-store shopping service with little trouble. I find the item, decide to buy it, and make it happen! However, sometimes things don't work out as planned...

The most difficult thing in my wardrobe to get, believe it or not, was a simple cardigan I purchased last summer directly from Metamorphose! It wasn't on sale, there weren't any ordering wars like a new Angelic Pretty release - but there were complications between ordering and actually getting it. It also had nothing to do with Meta, so fear not if you ever plan to order from them - they were incredibly helpful all through the issues, and their English customer support staff is fantastic!

Basically my package actually ended up arriving to my town, and then the next thing I knew it was sent back to Japan! Apparently somewhere along the line my address was inserted incorrectly electronically, so even if Meta had addressed it correctly (which they claimed they did), there was nothing that could be done about it. Adding to this mess, my package had a "guaranteed delivery date" which has never happened with USPS.

To sum it up, I had to pay the 3000 yen shipping fee twice for this cardigan, because of course, it was neither Meta's or USPS's fault. Just bad luck I suppose. I guess though I can't complain too much, I've had it pretty lucky and have never been hit with customs fees...

  1. That's so ironic [or something] that your most difficult acquisition, in a fashion filled with hard-to-get and expensive dream dresses, was a cardigan! It's great you've had good luck with most of your purchases :)

    1. Yeah, and in the end it wasn't a hugely complicated ordeal, just obnoxious. Fortunately I have pretty reasonable desires, although the next dress on my list is Day Dream Carnival in ivory, so I might be looking for a while...

    2. I've seen DDC pop up in a few places, so as long as you aren't set on one particular cut you should be able to find it. Good luck!

    3. Yeah, I've seen it up on Closet Child recently, I just wasn't quick enough! When it's time to buy I'll be watching the secondhand and auction sites like a hawk.

  2. Everytime I buy something I have precissesly the money necesary for the purchase. Not a penny more. Sooo if this happened to me I would be screwed! I had never been hit with customs either, I feel so lucky. ^^
